Ghost Scooper™ Technology Overview

The Gh
The Ghost Scooper™ is a patented rotary material distribution technology developed by PolyGhost Technologies that introduces a fundamentally new approach to industrial bulk material handling.

For decades, industries have relied on mechanical transport systems such as conveyors, augers, diverters, loaders, and manual labor to move and distribute dry or semi-solid materials.

These systems require:
• complex mechanical infrastructure
• large physical footprints
• multiple moving components
• high maintenance
• manual intervention

The Ghost Scooper replaces these mechanical transport systems with a rotational material acceleration system capable of projecting and distributing materials across space.

This creates an entirely new machine category:

Autonomous Dry Material Distribution Robots

This technology has the potential to transform a global material handling market across industries including wastewater treatment, mining, agriculture, food processing, and chemical manufacturing.
The Problem

T
Industrial facilities that process bulk materials must constantly move, fill, and distribute materials into containers, storage bays, trucks, or stockpiles.

In sludge dewatering plants, for example, dried sludge cake must be transferred into roll-off dumpsters or storage areas.

Traditional solutions include:

• pivoting conveyor systems
• mobile conveyor systems
• chute diverters
• container repositioning equipment
• skid-steer loaders
• manual shoveling

These approaches are:
• capital intensive
• mechanically complex
• labor dependent
• inefficient
• unsafe in some environments

The industry has accepted these limitations for decades because no alternative distribution technology existed.
The PolyGhost Solution

PolyGhost developed the Ghost Scooper, a rotary distribution mechanism capable of capturing, accelerating, and distributing bulk materials through controlled rotational motion.
Instead of transporting materials mechanically across space, the Ghost Scooper projects materials through space using controlled centrifugal acceleration.

Material enters the scooper directly from a conveyor outlet and is immediately captured by rotating scoop blades.
The rotating impeller then accelerates the material outward and distributes it across a target area.
This process allows the system to:
• distribute materials across containers
• spread materials across storage bays
• form stockpiles
• fill multiple containers automatically
• eliminate mechanical distribution infrastructure

Key Physical Principles

c
The Ghost Scooper technology operates using several physical principles.

Centrifugal Material Acceleration
The rotating rotor generates centrifugal force that accelerates material outward along the scoop geometry.
The final discharge velocity depends on:
• rotor radius
• rotor rotational speed
• blade geometry
• material density and friction properties
This velocity determines the distribution distance and coverage area.
Controlled Material Trajectory
By adjusting rotor speed using a variable frequency drive (VFD), the system can dynamically control:
• distribution distance
• spread width
• pile formation behavior
• fill patterns
This allows operators to adapt the distribution behavior to specific materials and container geometries.
Continuous Flow Distribution
Because the rotor continuously captures and accelerates incoming material, the system can process steady conveyor flows without interruption.
Unlike mechanical distribution systems, no additional transport mechanisms are required.
GSL Platform

Linear Material Distribution Systems

The GSL platform distributes materials in a linear pattern beneath a conveyor outlet.
Typical applications include:
• roll-off dumpster filling
• sludge storage bays
• compost windrow formation
• stockpile creation
The system integrates directly with U-trough screw conveyors or belt conveyor outlets, allowing easy retrofit installation in existing facilities.
GSL-360 Platform

GSL360 Platform - 360° Material DGSL360 Platform
360° Material Distribution Systems
The GSL360 platform incorporates a rotating base that enables full 360-degree distribution coverage.

This allows the scooper to fill:
• multiple dumpsters
• large storage bays
• compost processing areas
• mining stockpiles

The rotational base uses a slew ring mechanism that dynamically reorients the distribution direction. This greatly expands the coverage area without requiring additional conveyors.

Autonomous Material Distribution Robots

The Ghost Scooper Ai360 represents the next evolution of the platform: fully autonomous material distribution robots.

These systems integrate:
• industrial robotics
• machine vision systems
• AI control algorithms
• automated rotor speed control

Using vision cameras and sensors, the robot can:
-
Scan the available container or storage area.
-
Detect empty zones requiring material.
-
Adjust rotor RPM to control distribution distance.
-
Rotate the system to target the correct area.
-
Continuously monitor fill levels.
-
Automatically complete the filling process.
This creates a new category of self-optimizing bulk material distribution systems.
Materials Compatibility

Materials Compatibility

Material Characteristics

The Ghost Scooper system can accommodate materials with a wide range of physical characteristics:

• particle sizes from fine powders to coarse granules
• bulk densities ranging from lightweight organics to dense mineral solids
• moisture contents from dry powders to semi-solid materials

Material distribution behavior can be optimized by adjusting:

-
rotor geometry
-
rotor speed (RPM)
-
Ghost Scooper configuration (2-blade, 3-blade, or 4-blade rotors)
-
installation height and discharge orientation
This flexibility allows the Ghost Scooper platform to support municipal, industrial, agricultural, and mining applications using the same core technology.
Ghost Scooper Vault

Ghost Scooper Vault is an automated, enclosed container filling system designed to evenly distribute dry sludge, biosolids, screenings, grit, and bulk solids without augers, conveyors, or internal moving parts.

Using patented rotary distribution technology, the Vault breaks dense slugs and spreads material end-to-end and side-to-side inside the container, automatically leveling the load and maximizing usable volume.

The result is fewer change-outs, lower power consumption, minimal maintenance, and safer operation with no confined-space entry.
Ghost Scooper Vault™ automates container filling using rotary distribution technology eliminating augers, maximizing volume, and keeping operators out of the container.
